A house in Oaklands – KZN caught alight after it was struck by lightning

A house in Oaklands – KZN caught alight after it was struck by lightning during this afternoon’s storm (Tuesday).

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to the property after receiving reports of a house fire. RUSA Members arrived on scene at approximately 19:32 and met with the homeowner who confirmed that he managed to extinguish the fire. It was established that several electrical cables started to burn and three large windows shattered from the force of a lightning strike.

No injuries were reported.
